Stress, pain, and worry will consume our lives Tired of endless days; with no relief in sight Our bodies hurt; our minds are in distress The emotional toll can not be ignored Being poor and sick Seems to be all we know A kind of death in life We carry the lives of our mothers on our backs Trauma gets passed down through our blood Neglected and abused; left our minds out to rot The emotional toll cannot be ignored The violent cycle continues A kind of death in life Spiraling down a life without a path The future is never a comforting thought Hopelessness is our daily view The emotional toll cannot be ignored Generations of violence Generations of struggle.

There is no hope That things will work out That the pain will stop It's not clear what life will bring If it ever brings anything other than suffering If I could detach from my soul I would set myself free My body is a vessel With a target on its back In a system that sets you up for failure There is no hope That things will work out That the pain will stop It's not clear what life will bring If it ever brings anything other than suffering If I could detach my soul I would set myself free My body is a vessel With a target on its back In a system that sets you up for failure Am I just a spectator of my own life? We have no control over the things that will kill us We have no control We have no control We have no control There is no happy end

Innocent child being caught in the crossfire What does that mean to them? They want to harm you They don't care if they hurt you You don't matter to them Life is Scarce They want to kill you They don't care if they will kill you You don't matter to them Life is Scarce You are worthless Life is scarce Life lacks meaning Life is disposable They don't care if their bullets went through me They didn't care what that night did for the rest of my life You are worthless Life is disposable Wounds below the skin Life is scarce You don't know what you've done to us You don't care what you've done to us (x4)

Sometimes we forget how many lives we have touched (x3) Were there signs I had missed? I feel numb. I miss you. (x3) If we came to you, that one day on tour Would things be different? Would you still be here? Could we have done more? Could I have done more? What did you need? What did I have? Were there signs? (x3) Were there? We won't forget you We think of you everyday We won't forget you You were here when we started And the outside forces that drove you to be this fucked to hell We miss you Zeke You deserved to be happy, my friend You deserved to be yourself, my love Fuck this world Fuck its transphobia It proves it will kill Violence Murder Suicide It takes them away You were so warm You were so brave You were so brave The only one stronger than you was yourself.
6.
Why are we so forgotten? Everyone forgets about The human cost To the pain and the hatred These hidden wounds (Will last a lifetime) Why are we so forgotten? These hidden wounds will last a lifetime Everyone forgets about the human cost to the pain and the hatred.

Performance / Dear little rat Give a fuck / How's it feel To climb up / At the top Wrong / Lies Do you care when the gaze is gone? In the end, It's a trend
8.
Entrapped Gasping for air Entangled Roped, immobile Show me the way Unconstrict us Answer my pleas Bound as one Uncross I summon you I summon myself I summon you I summon myself Uncrossed
9.
They're not looking It is mine Its weight a victory I was so close But then our eyes met They weren't looking So I took it It belonged to me I was so close But then our eyes met The weight now heavy Under their control Who is to blame now?
10.
I see your eyes I hear your laugh But with time, you fade from my mind Darling / Folding in Why have you abandoned me? / Into myself I am waiting / I miss you Beloved When you go, if you'll return Is something I cannot know With time it fades I won’t remember the details Everyday creates more distance Will you remember me?

Fuck FUCK YOU Voyeur's gaze Searing through No remorse For what you do Throat agape Torn in two No remorse For what we do

about

Amygdala and Listless both begin in the dark. It’s in the darkness of unfathomable loss and disconnection on individual and global stages where the anguish begins. While both bands are drenched in hardcore punk’s noisy calamity, they split the difference between surviving emotional turmoil and getting revenge on the systems that cause it.

Amygdala follows their 2019 LP Our Voices Will Soar Forever with a set of songs intended for that album’s indignant self-reliance. The San Antonio collective carries over some of the theming from that release, from the jagged horrors of personhood (“My Body is a Vessel”) to the heavy burdens of cross-generational struggle (“A Kind of Death in Life”). Above all, Amygdala uses their side to assert their identity and dominance while toppling structures which seek to invalidate them.

Listless, a six piece “revenge band” from Richmond, released their saber-toothed debut EP in 2018. The Listless EP returns as part of this package, refocusing the band’s acerbic grit (“Crawl”) and thirst for retribution (“Blood for Blood”) in widescreen. New songs offer a different lens into the group—like the echoes of loss informing the reflective “Darling” or the monologue shot through “High Risk (Unsure Reward).” As a sturdy reintroduction to Listless, it’s also a well-rounded glimpse into their core values.

On their split LP—arriving this year via Get Better Records, Lengua Enfurecida Discos, and Quiet Year—there’s a shared consciousness at play. Different approaches to leveling an unfair playing field are inside, but all both sides forming a united front against cycles of violence, oppression, and power dynamics.
