"Never did I imagine as I write this that I would have to write 2 more names to the title. My heart sinks to the floor when I think about my recently dead friends. The violence against these trans persons devoured at their strength and will to live. I question my part in all of this. I'm sure we all have. Could we have done something to prevent their deaths?

Alas, all we can do now is remember our friends and live in their memory. We must continue the compassion they showed us. We must continue the work they did in our communities.
